so im trying to get emunand to work, i chose card instead of the partition since i didnt want to format it and i got the transfer to work fine but one i press the emunand button on launch i get the logos but it never boots i just get a black screen

In order to use emunand, you'll have to partition the SD card to setup an emunand correctly. Also fat32 is recommended as exfat will eventually crash your whole cfw. Just backup everything you've got and then format and partition your SD card, setup a new emunand, run incognito_rcm, restore all data onto your SD and you should be able to boot into cfw emunand.
