has anyone, besides me, found the cloud service unstable? for exa. for emple, I was playing tales of vesperia earlier when save data downloaded appeared on the screen. it was for guacamelee. however, the save was at the beginning of the game. what adds more to the confusion is that my skull tokens and achievements were still present. I'm afraid that one day my saves are going to be corrupted or go missing.

Do you download your save file from the cloud often?

And whit what game's file do you have problem (apart from Guacamelee)?

no, I think if the save is different on cloud from the system, it will warn you. that's happened a couple times. checking the save doesn't seem to matter as the save is still present. this is the first time a save has actually disappeared. what's even more odd is that the save that my save was replaced with was one at 0 hours. skull tokens and achievements were also still present, so I have no idea how that happened. I'm wanting to go all digital due to health problems, but it's frustrating knowing that these things have been happening to me. it makes not want to play the switch. I love the system and its games, but the fear of losing saves (already have when my first switch died for unknown reasons has me worried). having bought the digital counterparts of my games has me worried. that's a lot of time and money doing that.

I perfectly understand your fear... I am a "keep all the save files at any cost" myself and hearing that the Switch Cloud can accidentally lose part of the save files scares me a lot... i have a lot of hours of playing in a lot of games, and i don't want to lose any of my hard-worked achievement.

That being said, i admit that i don't pay much attention to the "notification" of the Switch while i am using it.
I leave the backup option on auto-backup, with occasional manual backup when i used it in flying mode (mostly for battery and/or travel-without-WiFi reason). Also, all of my game are physical version (i am also afraid of never been able to play a game if it gets retired from the online store), but this should not make any difference...

My guess is that the data about your story progression got somehow corrupted (and replaced with that "starter file" with 0 hours in it) while those about achievement (probably stored on a different "block of memory") was not, and so you get that strange save file...
Did you deleted the save file from the consolle (ie, keeping it only in the Cloud) before all this mess happened?

when I lost my original saves, it was over 450 hours worth. I don't really understand why I'm having a difficult time with the system.
