Is it known if it's possible for the switch itself or some other device that may be made for it to write to the memory chip on the game cart after coming out of production, so say somehow writing cart specific data to the game cart

ok, wasn't sure what the case was, I do wonder if it would be possible for a company to incorporate stuff besides just the game storage itself into switch game carts, like a memory chip if they wanted saves on the cart and not the system
