Would it be possible to keep track of updates? The reswitched discord has a bot that can output update to games in a json. ( https://github.com/reswitched/HacVersionListBot )

It would be neat if based on IDs we could see which games are outdated and which are up to date. Right now it is a pain in the ass to keep track of it since you can't just let your Switch go online to check for updates.

Here is an example of the json it outputs

One BIG WISH
If i add Files or Dir to NSP-List.
How about a Option to Scann only new Files?

You can Identify them with your <FilePath> and identify them perfect if you also store ceationtime for the files.
Scanning 1700 NSP takes VERY LONG. Scanning only the 50 new would be better. ;-)

Why don't you use the "Folders to scan at startup" on the options screen?

Why does the normal scan don't work like this one?
I din't knew this scan is other than the normal scan.

But i use some external drives ;-)
So they are not allways there if i start the tool.
Ok i could close and open and close and open...

Yes, they do the same. When you go to "tools -> Update local database" it scans for new files only.
Maybe I couldn't understand what you are asking.

How do you come from rescan directory or search for new games to Update local Database :rofl2:

BTW. It doesn't work.
I got 3 new files in the known dir.
Update... starts a scan but no result.
Adding games thru Add Files../Scan on Start works

Update Local Database requires you to put the folder you want to scan in the Options as @GibaBR mentioned above, I think

and even then, if you have lots of duplicates in that folder, it'll still takes a long time to rescan, as these duplicates are considered as new files that are not in the database already

Please open an issue on github describing your scenario so I can try to reproduce the error.

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

v 1.1.6 released
  • Fix: Unable to process 'Scene' NSP releases #45. Thanks to garoxas;
  • Filename on the lists now shows only filename by default, user can however choose to show complete path in options;
  • Highlights on the scene list the files you already have (NSP, XCI or both) with custom colors;
  • Now you can donate using paypal - if you want to. Link is on github page :-)

I think there is a glitch

If you have a file in the list, and auto rename it to the game name

so mygame.xci becomes Mario.xci

when you DELETE the file from the list, and filename, and you add mygame.xci back into the list, it shows the renamed name already, and you cannot rename it again. since that name obviously doesn't exist.
Instead it should have shown mygame.xci in the list.

are the splitted roms (4gb parts for fat32) supposed to be recognized? mine arent
would be nice to incorporate splitting function in the same app, instead of using an external one

i can confirm this happens for me also, basically i have to then add the the files either manually in or just import the whole folder again for it to pick up the new games

It's possible!!!
Real fast and without decrypting or anything else.
I found an extreme fast and simple way to do it.:rofl2:

The next version of NSP Rename will get this feature and i will share my knowledge with you.
If you want to know how you can use this way in your tool Send me a Message.

Better tools are good for all of us.
You get a PM ;-)

Really useful program, great work. Noticed a couple of issues. Scene releases, if there's a revision it flags the old and the new as available, ie Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I have Rev 002 not the first release both are highlighted in Green, same for Super Mario Odyssey Rev001 and Super Bomberman R Re001. Also renaming xci files MONSTER HUNTER GENERATIONS ULTIMATE has a scene ID of 0000 instead of 0799.

when i pick my XCI folder, goes back to SBM and then saids (Done) no games on the list

Same here! Scrapes a few games though and lists those..

Hi,

i realy like this tool. Great work so far.
I have 2 feature requests:

1. I like to use the rename function for nsp files with custom settings but titleid always set in upper case letters. This causes that bob cdnsp bob gui doesn´t recognise the file anymore as already loaded. So it would be great to have this title id variable in lower case as well.

2. It would be very usefull to have a feature that gives you the chance to easy find multiple update files for the games. I load a lot of updates and i only need the latest one. So it would be great if backup manager can some how mark obsolete old update files so i can find them easy and delete them.
