By the way, don't go cheap like I did with something like an EZCap/AGPTek 280 , as its life expectancy is short. The recording is pretty good, but.... Well..... It breaks easily. I was particularly unlucky and it broke after less than 1 month. Now I have an AVerMedia LGP Lite. It can't do 1080p60 but it is nice.

I thought about using this one, is a upgrade to the previous one, this one can capture 1080P at 60FPS instead of 30, and still do all the same stuff. PC free Mode capture and all that. :)

I saw that, my point is, do not go cheap on the card like I did lulz

Well if you're "in a cave of despair collecting souls" It won't be much value to get one of those. :P

I had least expected to have in game video capture or twitch/youtube streaming with the 5GHZ wifi built in (FINALLY) and the nvidia chip stuff, it seem it would make sense, nvidia own tablet can do all that.

Well is your choice, although the LGP2 does processing without PC and capture game at 1080P 60FPS with out pc. It process video all without pc, and make things easier even when you wanna record something and can't use a pc. You can still use pc and it will also not require pc processing power since it can do it on its own. :)

I'm using an AverMedia ExtremeCap U3 and it's working just fine. I also have a DataPath which works fine.
I'd record breath of the wild in 30fps if I were u as it's locked to that.

I personally used to use an old HDPVR, but going the route of less space, I got a pci AVerMedia Live Gamer HD, it works well for 1080p 30fps, 720p 60fps
Live Gamer HD 2 though I did recently receive this, it works better than the prior model, allowing 60fps at 1080p, though of course it will cost a little more, as for the "HD proetected content" workarounds exist

Hello,
I am pretty new to this side but I want something precis.
Any one can suggest me a capture card that is compatible with Switch and also that show a real time console on pc ?

I mean before I used a Dazzle for Wii to get my wii on Windows.
I just want similar for Switch for two reason, playing on my computer monitor without changing computer config or monitor source.
And get my playback time to time recorded/streamed
I can't seem to figure out what would be the right choice for that, so any help would be appreciated.
(Btw I'm sure if that could be posted it but as it is just for switch i though it would be good.)
I got a capture device yesterday for exactly the same reasons as you. The one I use is the Hauppauge HD PVR Rocket, which has an HDMI passthrough and can record gameplay without being connected to a PC (it dumps footage in .mp4 format to any USB drive). The only downside is that it can't capture at 1080p60, but instead maxes out at 1080p30.

Sorry if double posting after 24 is not right im unsure.
Im actually making a tiny record to test that now i will update this post with link once there ^^
This is not promoting just like I said to show how it work with the switch :)
wow the video quality will be wow Oo

Edit here it is and in term of video quality that almost the same as I seen in preview only a really bit more blurry

I have a Ati video card that was capture also. I had no lag when recording i could play anything right on the pc monitor. To bad its only agp its from 2003. Currently i have 3 devices for capture: ati tv wub capture card,a dvd recorder and a VCR. Yeah a vcr cuse that's win. And yeas i have recorded HD content to a VCR. it was converted to standard Def of course. The usb capture card has a delay a about 2 sec. the other 2 don't delay cause its pass through. You will have to split the hdmi. It to bad there are not reasonably priced standalone blu ray recorders. Always found it easier to use my dvd recorders for capture.

is there a capture card that doesn't need to be connected to a pc and switch at the same time?
There are capture cards that record to their own internal HDDs (sold separately), like the AVerMedia Game Capture HD 2, which can be connected as a storage device through USB to copy the capture footage, if that's what you're asking for. :P

I personally use a Hauppauge HD PVR2 Gaming Edition. Works fine, no issues. You can snag them for like 50 on ebay used. The software is butt, but I just capture the source directly in OBS, and have yet to have any issues with any consoles over HDMI.

If Netflix is released for the Switch some time in the future, does that mean HDCP will also be added? If so, what's the likelihood that Nintendo will have an option to disable it?
I would assume it would be enabled app side. I could try recording netflix on my Wii U to see if it works, but I would guess the app has HDCP enabled within it for protection. It's honestly better that way too.
