got a switch on firmware 4.1.0 the serial start num xaj400

what are my options?

i have hacked wii's and we daily use a wii u with haxchi (soft boot hold B button) the wii u suits our needs and would like a similar option for the switch if possible.


should i go ahead and create a switch account and subscription or will i be forced to update the system?

basically what are my options?

I have kept(and hacked) my 4.1.0 too, using atmosphere and reinx now. Still kind of unclear do I have to update to play newer games or is there a way to modify new releases to boot on older firmware

You can't use the RCM exploit. Keep it on 4.1.0 for the time being or buy an unpatched system.

According to this serial list, Switch with XAJ4006 and above should be definitely patched.

If you update, you can forget about hacking your Switch anytime in the near-ish future, if ever.

You will need to update it to do anything online with it. There will be hacks for 4.1.0 in the near-ish future (maybe a few months or so). If you update, you can kiss those hacks goodbye.

If I were you, I'd sell your Switch and buy an unpatched one.
