Hi there Guys,

I've just bought an unmodded v1 switch with the intention of jailbreaking it. It's currently on official firmware 20.4.0.

Is there a simple guide anywhere I can follow to jailbreak this switch?#

Thanks in advance!

RCM, I believe.

I don't know myself because I don't have a modded Switch, nor do I have the funds for a hackable or already hacked one.

Wish I did, but at the same time, I'm saving up for a new MacBook, which (despite being an M1 Air model) costs €700.

Erghh.. an unmodded v1 Switch on the latest official firmware sounds a bit suspicious to me are you sure it’s hackable?

Depends on if it is unpatched or patched v1.

According to the relevant website the serial number shows it as being unpatched. It was purchased second hand from a local store and I chose it based on checking it serial number.

Thanks

Unpatched (also known as V1) units cannot be patched via firmware updates, my friend. The flaw that is being exploited is an oversight on the hardware itself, through which the console can be forced to enter some kind of "maintenance mode" pretty much at the beginning of the boot process.

As long as Atmosphere receives updates, those units are guaranteed to be hackable.

The original switch 1s that Nintendo first recalled were still named v1’s at the time, the version 2’s you are referring too was something someone named it so people who wanted a hacked unit could tell the difference. I do know I have been around a while

Don’t go by those checkers they can be wrong especially with the earlier units

Thanks for the info guys, I've got it up and running now!

What's the best way to install backups on 20.4.0? I tried to install tinfoil but the installer doesn't seem to work?

Thanks

Haven't done this in a while, but I think the last installer I used was DBI.

Hi again,

Thanks for the reply...I've managed to install some backups using awoo and ns usbloader but when trying to run any game I get the message "An error has occurred, please try again later (error code: 2155-8007)

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks
