Swapdoodle still works?

The Nintendo Network has shut down, but it seems that you can still send & receive notes normally... Does it use a different system?

Weird, I could send them just normally when I last tried. Things like Badge Arcade were already down.

If you have kept your 3DS online in a certain game some still do currently work. You can still currently wonder trade on Pokemon X / Y, however if you get disconnected that's it, you won't be able to reconnect.

Okay, update: I can't send notes, the "sent" screen appears but when you do a delivery check, it says that a note isn't sent yet and will (now won't) be sent.
