Hey everyone,

I'm trying to get this video player to work but I'm not sure what format & settings to use when converting my videos. Can someone who uses the player say what works and what doesn't?

had you read the nfo from your link ?

An Open Source PSVita/TV MP4 player with 1080p playback and subtitle support
MKVs do NOT work. If you want to preserve subtitles with MKVs I recommend using Handbrake to convert them to MP4 with Timed Text Subtitles. Direct FFMPEG will also work.

MP4 only

@peter8 I tried with 1080p as well as 720p MP4 and both didn't work. That's why I'm asking about specific codec/bitrate/etc as maybe that's the problem.

ok, let say it easy, when you have zero knowledge about video encoding, than first inform how to do it.
video encoding is extra and the vita forum is not made for it. its a lot of information what you need.

MP4 = container, not the codec.
Bitrate for 720p on MP4 = mostly 2000k to 5000k
Audio Codec extra and go into the MP4 container.
srt files subtitles

to many information, you need seperate encoding forum.

otherwise try first and ask later and not before, I dont get it.

Found it, turns out that in many places it says the Vita can play 1080p videos but I couldn't get those to work (only the sound played). 720p however runs fine :)
