ROM Hack Superstar Saga no BGM Hack?

Hey!

I am getting into speedrunning superstar saga and was wondering if there were a hack to remove the BGM, but not the SFX since there are a few audio cues that are rather important.

If not, is there any precedence for a hack like this? How hard might it be?
