I was over at scdev a couple months ago, I remember reading a thread about 2 customers claming to have bricked their DSes using the Supercard Mini SD. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm pretty sure this is real since realhotstuff tested the returned SC MiniSD. I'd like to get a flashcart for my gf, but you know these rare occurances are kinda daunting. Thanks.

This is not just a Supercard problem all these game copiers are built poorly.
And the more you remove & reinsert them the more the chance of bending a
pin or cross threading something. This is one reason why many people were
bitching about why would the new M3 mini be side loading. It’s rare that
something like this happens, but these are pirate game copiers built in china.
And if a huge company like Nintendo can put out a DS that cracks then these
Small company’s are bound to have 10 times the problems Nintendo would have.

Lol, the SuperCard miniSD bricking as DS?! That is not possible unless you load the malware loader which can brick your DS. This is very rare and won't happen to you if you are just playing games and homebrew.

it is mostly with cf cards because you can bend the pins easily.

i sold over 100 supercard minisd and zero problems.

my friend bricked 2 ds'es with his mini sd supercard!
after inserting it into his ds lite he tried to load a game but it didn't work so he put on another game and that didn't work either.
then the ds lite lost power
and when he tries to turn it on the light goes on for 2 seconds and than it shuts down.
I think the card is faulty and destroying the ds by short-circuit

the malware loader does only work when you connect sl1 or have flashed your ds right?

If he bricked 2 DS with the SuperCard miniSD then he had a fake miniSD version as its impossible!

No FifthE1ement it is not impossible, there have been a few posts on this.
Although it’s not referred to as bricking but blowing the fuse. I have seen this
happen with a M3, everything was running fine removed the M3 to load a game
& when reinserted it blew the fat DS fuse. In theory it could happen with a GBA
cartridge if something was wrong or it was badly manufactured.
