I will be getting my Supercard in 20 hours, and despite the two major functions of RTS and game guide, information about a laggy Moonshell OS, horrible 8.3 savegame filenames and most importantly inferiority in microSD access speed are making me sure that the first and only menu I will be using on the SCDS-1 is the DSTT menu.

I want to know if the DSTT menu and the SCDS-1 OS use different savegame formats. I have been carrying my save files on the R4 over to AK2 and now will be transferring them to the SC, so does the DSTT menu use the same format as R4/AK2 or will I need to convert?

The save format is interchangeable.
The only thing you should take care of, is that you FIRST start the game in either DSTT or YSMENU.
The supercard will use the long filename save if it finds one.

I do not think that the access speed is much slower ... just slightly.
And I do not think that you will use DSTT menu allways ... I think that it is really made for 6 year olds ...

anyways ... good luck, and see for youself what menu you will use.
and do not underestimate ysmenu ... its ugly, but its great

Interchangeable? You mean SC OS will read R4 format saves if it finds them?

yes

but actually I meant that the save format is the same. (so it is not "r4 save" but a common savefile, which happens to be written by an R4

Eg the fileformat of saves is the same with ak2, cyclo, scdsone, dstt and I believe R4 (and I guess many others)

Most flashcarts uses RAW saves. The only thing that could have to be done is some renaming.

i don't think so though ? it's just that the SuperCard's save names are stupid

if you want to keep your save game files then use either the DSTT or the YSMENU !

they both use the same kind of sav file name as the R4

AFAIK SC and R4 have diff formats.

AFAIK not.

SCDS1 will use short filenames ...
so you will have to rename.

If it finds a "normal" long named savefile, it will use it.
So first start games in ysmenu or dstt and you are good to go.

Surprise surprise. All savegames needed converting. =\

Really??
How did you do it??

I know that at least EZ-Flash 5, DSTT, acekard and SCDS1 saves are interchangeable, because I did interchange them
