Hacking Super Smash Brawl ALT Stages Help?

I been looking for solutions on installing custom alternative stages for Super Smash Bros Brawl, and so far I am easily getting confused in the process since tutorials mainly go over replacing a stage completely, or having a custom alt stage loaded but don't really explain how it works.

I know the method involves Brawl Box. But I am not fully understanding what to do...
