For Nano Banana, I recommend setting the image size to 2k.
A 2048×2048 size will do.
For a 2048×1024 size, you can simply paste two images together.
The default prompt is usually to use a photorealistic rendering, but since there's some randomness, it's best to use the image that best suits the original situation.
The image I'm using is specific to robot parts.
"Converts robot parts into photorealistic 3D renderings while preserving their original shape, color, brightness, and shading.
The resulting image dramatically highlights the crisp, clean surfaces of heavy metal parts.
The metal surfaces are given a slightly oily finish.
The background remains the same."
You can use this as a base and add or subtract as needed.
