Here's an experiment in keepings things small and confined to one Javascript file. There are no external image files or anything, everything is rendered with Javascript using either canvas elements or old fashioned div-making tactics (for IE). The sprites are stored in custom encoded strings in a format that only allows 4 colors for each sprite but in turn only takes up around 40-60 bytes per sprite. ...

It miss a lot but still very impressive... Link

This is a good example of "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

Still.. very impressive.. shows that javascript is not just a silly scripting language just for little things, you can do some cool stuff with it

But definitely, not games

It's all right. Too bad they switched the mushroom for a coin; it would've been interesting to see how they turned Mario into Super Mario and nothing happens when you hit the brick blocks. Still, great for being done on Javascript.

Awesome. It works great on normal size for me, but it's fairly early in its development. I'd like to see it expanded to include Mushrooms, etc; 1hko situations aren't really my forte.

Reminds me of...

"We have this new game called Zantar. Zantar is a gelatinous cube that eats warriors in a medieval village. Every time it eats a chieftain you ascend to a higher level. Beauty part is you can't get to the next level. So the kids keep coughing up quarters..." - Noah Vanderhoff

Should be easy, but name that movie.
