the game is way to easy and short wtf!

Agreed. Levels are FAR too short and even the later stages are easy. Im pretty disapointed with this game i have to say, I hope mario kart 7 is better.

I miss the days of Mario 64 :( At least someone is doing a complete overhaul of mario 64 with completely new level designs. Its been posted on here somewhere if anyone knows what im on about please link me so i can check the progress of it but yeah hopefully that will be better than 3d land

Although this game probably is awesome and one of the best 3DS titles we get in a year or so, I can't help getting the feeling of being raped by Nintendo for making Mario so incredibly slow. But I guess it's appriciated by casual players?

if I'm right in the hard versions of the levels you start with 30 seconds and you quickly have to grab the stopwatches and finish the level

:( That sounds s**t. I hate time limits in games to begin with.

Can anybody confirm this. I might just skip this and get Sonic Generations in the end then...

lol, I'm getting both.
But they aren't all like that, I think only the castle ones where you fight dry bowser are the time limit crazy ones.
The other ones consist of mean enemy placement + Cosmic clones, some original levels, and more difficult versions of the easy levels(You may not have any powerups availible in the level, or getting through a propellor block friendly level without the propellor block.)-TBH I'm not sure there's a level like that propellor one I mentioned, it was just an idea

I was originally only going to get Generations. All the hype has slowly convinced me that this game could be pretty good. I've never liked 3D Mario but most of this game looks 2D in 3D as opposed to actual Mario-64 style 3D - it kind of looks as close to NSMB that you could get in an actual 3D environment.

I could do with a game to play this weekend, though, as I'll be housebound. And Generations (which I definitely WILL be getting) doesn't come out until mid next week! Arghh!

Thats the one! Thanks :D

i just took a break from mario land and when i checked my activity log, i only clocked in at 1 hour and fifty minutes. this shocked me because I'm almost done with the game in a couple of sittings! this game is too short and also easy. i remember the mario for ds was short too but that game was 30 dollars. this is forty and i feel like i deserve a longer game. it's fun but needs more content. each world should of have more than five levels. makes me wish they did it like super mario world and have like 94 levels.

also did anyone else notice that they lessen the 3d effect for this final product? the first e3 trailer that was in the eshop had a stronger pop out effect and when i tried to replicate this at the exact same place, it didn't work. i think it's because the camera is zoomed out a bit more (at both 3d settings on the dpad). it still looks good. examples is like in the e3 trailer, when mario goes into the transporting box and retransport into a land in front of the screen, the land kinda pops out a bit. it did not happen when i played the game. also in the trailer when mario hits the fake goombas, the bits popped out of the screen. when playing the game, the camera automatically zooms and so nothing pops out. one last example is that on the mario japanese website, you can view 3d images and in one of the images, you see mario and the first boss run off the screen (popout). There is no way for me to replicate this effect in the real game. i know that when you just stay still the camera zooms in , but once you start walking it zooms out again. its no big deals but it looked nice in the trailer.

Personally:

I feel that the game isn't too short. It is just alright. (perhaps because I suck in it)

The trailers do have a stronger 3D, but I like the actual more. It is not as pixelated and not as fuzzy as the trailer.

? i dont get how its not as pixelated or fuzzy. it looks just the same but with the camera zoomed in more or zoomed out more. plus you are comparing it to a trailer that is a compressed video and not the actual game so its not even a fair comparison.

I remember reading that they changed the 3D focus point to Mainly Mrio to reduce the fuzzyness/blurryness at some point in the development so that's probably it.

Aren't you comparing it to a trailer yourself?

And... this. Isn't Mario fuzzy and pixelated?

yeah the game is ok, but being a older gamer i have a different perspective on this game, i feel nintendo didn't do much in terms of creativity, they just grabbed a lot of stuff from super mario bros 3 and made it in 3D and we have super mario land 3D, i feel a lot of deja vu playing this game, maybe it's because i've played too much mario over the years lol

I think they wanted to bring back memories for the fan base. i am disappointing a bit but it's still fun to play. i wish the racoon could fly instead of hoover... and what happened to the "stone" part?

This game will keep you busy for a while, but if you really want to see how the game plays, watch more gameplay footage (NintenDaan1 has some good videos on youtube)

Woot! I got the game!! I came home for college expecting it to be here tomorrow but my mum said some game came this morning! I'll have a great night tonight. =)

2 days before the release. :D

uhh comparing the 3d effect is different isn't it? i was talking about the strength of it. you're talking about how it it looked and that's not fair since there's compression issues. the compression isn't affecting the quality of the 3d. you keep pointing out how it's fuzzy and yet that could be because of the compression. and mario is still pixelated no matter what because the 3ds resolution is low.
