Since I value the gbatemp community, does anyone have any good suggestions for one of those portable media devices that plays various media formats from an SD card or usb device?

Preferably one that has a screen and plays DVD's/burned CD's as well.

    And with audio/video output.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

A PSP with CFW can play movies off a memory stick, and has AV out.

True, but the only thing with that is it doesn't play from a portable HDD and they don't support all the formats portable media players support.

There are a few on dealextreme, but I was wondering if anyone else had good experiences with certain ones.

Yeah, they sound pretty cool, and you can get 'em off ShopTemp pretty cheap...
Not sure about screen size though?

Not a large screen, but it has a good resolution. I forgot if the resolution changes when you connect it to the TV, I think it does.

Check out Ownta's ginormous selection of PMPs, if you want a dedicated media player. Be warned though, there's dozens of new ones almost daily. You can read up on sites such as PMPToday or MP4Nation's forum and blog.

Good luck and let me know if you've decided on one!

Well when I started out, I was looking for one of those portable DVD players that you can plug a USB drive into and play...

I never realized there were so much better options out there.

    PMPs!!

I ended up getting the Ainol V9000HDG. It's great!
