Hacking Suercard Lite and battery life

I know that using the Supercard Lite drains the battery power faster than using a slot-1 card / original cartrige, but does it effect the power consumption if it is in the DS slot-2 but not in use (ie. I am playing original games / using a slot-1 card)?

People have suggested that it does, speculating that the power-hungry RAM is enabled whenever power is flowing through the device (which is whenever it's in the GBA slot).

Try it out and see if you can confirm or disprove this idea.

I have a supercard lite and an r4, and i never noticed a shortage in batterylife...
