Sub VS Dub

So I have been watching a lot. of anime recently. (Half waytigh the holidays, need I say more?)
Very few shows have dubs on the websites I use, but the kind I like (code geass, deathnote, gundam) are al dined. So after I finish watching all those (only the originally gundam icbb with the others) I started watching some random stuff. (Only noteable one was 11eyes which was odd.but kinda cool) and they were all subbed. After that I decided that i prefer dubs, mainly because of the way my brain works, I keep trying to learn jappanese and work what means what.

On the subject of anime, anyone got any recommendations? I am d/ling Full Metal Alchamist and might d/l Full metal panic if I can find a dub.

On a completely in related note, anyone.know of a decent android keyboard where you don't press fulstop every time you try and put a space?

Yu Yu Hakusho, once you get past the first five episodes, it becomes the one of the most memorable shows you could ever watch.
Also Subs, because the voices in english are usually corny, and they mess up the pronounciations on the japanese names.
Though I do recommend the dubbed version of Yu Yu Hakusho, it's one of the best I've heard.

90% of weeaboos will say that they will die if they will hear a dub.
Personally, I don't mind. I normally download dual audio and decide after the first episode which to continue watching in.

I do that sometimes, but usually most times I get a new anime that hasn't been dubbed yet, and then when it is, it's weird to watch because you're so used to hearing japanese.

personally, I don't really mind. Both can be good, especially if you, for example, want to watch anime, but only the dub is availible on, say, youtube, or your mobile phone screen is too small for the subs. Both have advantages, people shouldn't stress about it.

On the otherhand, I mostly watch subbed episodes of shows. The original emotions of the chars are better to hear that way.

If the Dub's good, I'll watch it, if it's bad, I may watch the sub. However, with dubs I don't have to pay as much attention to the screen so I can do other things while I watch.

Generally, if it's a Hayao Miyazaki movie or a Funimation anime, I will watch the dub. I rarely watch subs anymore.

I think another reason I prefer dub is that I watch most of the anime at 9pm whilst 4am so my brain starts getting distracted if I'm reading and I miss out on.the story line.

i prefer subs because you don't miss as much of the information through translation (the translators at least normally make an attempt to explain cultural and language things that you would completely miss)

Being japanese, American, spanish, Korean, or whatever, Watching something like it was meant to be dub is always better.
The author decided how is should be dub, and often other countries are changing things : names, accents, cultural jokes, etc.

Of course, it suppose that you understand the jokes, know the culture or references enough, etc.
(like in How I met Your Mother, cultural references are needed, but French subbers always give a .txt with all the references

, while official french episodes adapt jokes to french references, not often easy to adapt something so they invent a new one...)

I used to be a Dub person until I watched a Subbed episode and realised how much better they are (in my opinion at least).
I tend to find most Dubs have unbearably bad voice acting.

I watch dubs at any chance really. It just takes away from the anime if I have to read what they're saying and not have the emotion of the words hit me instead. Most good animes seem to have good or great dubs though. I dunno why dubs get such a bad rep, most weaboos must watch terrible animes.

The one show I do recommend watching in Sub form is Slayers (the original) I rewatched it on Netflix and the dub is TERRIBLE (though it gets better when Amelia and Zelgadis get their voices changed to Veronica Taylor and Johnny Young Basch, but it's still pretty bad.). However, Slayers Next onwards isn't that bad, but the original Slayers should be watched in Sub form.
