From my reliable friend Joh, I heard that Strongbad Ep 1 forces your Wii to update, or requires you to update before you can play.

I'm already at 3.3, so I won't be able to tell, but is this true?

If so, is there a way to strip it, or bypass the update?

I was just making a point about my friend Joh...

it was in some Comment he said...

I just finished downloading it from the shop... yea... the shop... I'll let ya'll know if it's good, lol

I loved H*R like 5 years ago when it became really popular with my group of friends. I am somewhat interested in this title, but the fact that they are launching the Sam + Max series (loved the PC version) with updated Wii controls makes me super pumped. I look forward to reading reviews, Telltale Games is essential the new generation version of LucasArts back in the point and click adventure days.

Ok, it doesn't have the system update, so sorry to scare everyone.

This game was "teh suxors"... unless you like point and click SWF games on your Wii...

loading times were a little longer than I thought it would take for such a small game. The "pointer" is so small, and so precise it's hard to click what you want the first time.

There is a small "easter egg" for all of us pirates though... when you click on the channel to start the game, StrongBad types on Lappy 486 a file name that ends in .wad, I thought that was the funnies part of the game.

You progress though the story, and get to "create" the world of StrongBad how ever you see fit on the "map" (when you unlock a new location, you get to place it on the map where ever you want). All the StrongBad characters are in the game.

I was never a fan of StrongBad, and since I won't be playing this game anymore, it's a good thing I didn't spend the Wii Points on it. If you are a fan of StrongBad, you will enjoy this game. It take ~320 blocks in your memory, and 1000 Wii Points.

Personally, I would rate this as a 2/10, but as a general game, it's not much better at 5/10...

Last thought:

If you like StrongBad, and laugh at the humor, get it.
If you've never heard of StrongBad, watch some videos online before getting this game.

^Pretty good review zidane_genome. Sums the game up perfectly... It's an interactive Flash cartoon!

It's well put together, quite funny in parts (although I'd barely heard of Strong Bad prior to this) and overall not bad. One thing I noticed was the massive amounts of dialogue for a Wiiware game, 95% of what you download must be audio data. As for the puzzles themselves; they're easy and illogical and normally solved by just randomly clicking on crap (although that's been my strategy for point-and-click games since Leisure Suit Larry back in 1842!).

So not a bad game but for fans of Strong Bad only. The gameplay isn't really strong enough for people new to SB like myself.

::EDIT:: Forgot to mention... I tested on a PAL Wii with the wad auto-patched with FreeTheWADs. My Wii is currently on 3.2E

Sorry to go off-topic,but does anyone know when it's coming out in the UK?
This Friday.

Will need to "test" it though, the price seems steep for what it is. Might even try the PC version, then that'll solve the memory problem and its cheaper.

Hmm, completely off-topic but...is the game any good?

If you like Strong Bad you'll love the game.. if you don't know him but like adventure games, you will still enjoy it..

I'm a big Homestar Runner fan so I'm liking it a lot

I'm with you on this, enjoyed it a lot though it is a bit pricey.

Laggy will enjoy this.

Didn't have to my update myself, just incase you needed more confirmation.

I'd never heard of Strong Bad or anything like this before I played the game, and I still find it pretty fun. Surprisingly polished too. So yeah, a good game, definitely worth a download (especially seeing how we get so much crap on WiiWare).
