I have an old iPod Classic. Its battery connector is about to snap off the board, but it's still making a connection, so I bought some epoxy (I can only find the type for bonding steel). I plan on mixing it 1:1 and apply around the base of the connector, while holding the connector down.

Anyone ever tried this?

The steel stuff may be conductive so be aware of that. Normal epoxy resin should not be hard to find though; they sell reasonable size tubes in pound shops here.

But yes you can use material to try to achieve increased strength of some flavour. I doubt it will work all that well for a straight connector. Something like this happens, and replacing the connector is not viable, and I will tend to throw wires somewhere else and make the connection a permanent one.
