Gaming Streaming videos to TV

Well hi I sorta have a problem with streaming my Videos.

I have a TV that can connect to my Computer and i can watch most of my movies on TV but somehow sometimes there are problems.

Today i started a movie with the Windows 7 option "wiedergabe auf TV" which should be in english "play on TV" than because something good was in tv i stopped it for later,
now i get an error saying "error initialising the playlist" weirdly enough some other files still work oO (all avi)

any idea how this is possible ?

and another thing is my TV has some "folder?" that it access to on my pc problem is just that i cannot find it, else i would preffer to yous link my movies into that folder so that i have not to add every single file allways in that playlist.
some programs like ps3 media server are rather good but still not perfekt...

Firstly how are you connecting to your TV?
Secondly what player?
Thirdly what TV?

player ??? no player at all ... when saying "play on tv" it starts some windows programm that should stream the movie
a old Somsung tv ... no clue what number it was again ... some of the earlier crystal line ones

Only info I found searching google was that sometimes its a problem with the rights but I set everything to allowed and weirdly it worked before.
