With all the progress the Switch scene made, does it still make sense to keep a second non-hacked Switch?
In other words, is there still something that can only be done with the latter?

Thank you for your opinions :)

I can think of a few reasons
- If you absolutely want to keep your clean system clean, without any risk of getting banned, then yes it makes sense to keep a second non-hacked Switch
- If you own a v1 unpatched Switch and don't want to go through to hassle of going into RCM and don't enable auto-RCM, keeping a second non-hacked Switch allows you to keep one in CFW and one in OFW
- You have enough disposable income that keeping a clean switch doesn't make a difference to your financial wellbeing

TL;DR: Individual circumstances and preferences

I have three Switches. My launch system got banned pretty quickly after everything started taking off and I started messing around. Not sure if they caught me through error logs I caused or something else. I unknowingly managed to pick up a second RCM'able system to play MHGU online with a buddy and installed Atmo on it earlier this year and it's still unbanned even with me using it constantly to develop and test stuff. Everything seems a lot safer now, but I'll admit, I don't pirate anything, so that might factor into it.

IMO I don't think so. As long as you have your EMUNAND set up properly with DNS MITM and keep your SYSNAND clean, there's no real difference. I've been using both on my Erista since TOTK came out and haven't had any issues.

That being said, it's your hardware of course, so do whatever feels right.

I have 2. 1 for online and one with CFW but main reason I keep 2 is because the first one was given to me as a gift by my sister, the other one I only got to hack lol

Another reason I could see for having 2 switched would be to have one old erista that can be modded easily, and then have a newer mariko for the better battery life (and maybe oled screen if its the oled).

But if you don't use backup/signature patches, or only use them on an offline emuMMC, even syscfw is mostly safe by now (has has been for quite a while).
I don't even remember when I last bootet into stock, since it was years ago by now.
But I mostly use CFW for homebrew via title overwrite (R while starting an application) and to use system modules like sysdvr for streaming and sysclk for higher clocks, while also going online normally. So nothing crazy.

I have 2 unmodded (lite and V2) because they were gifts and I spent a lot time on time previously. Sentimental value I suppose. Oled for single player games. Lite for mario kart online, V2 for just dance connected to TV.
