Hacking still got some questions

i've searche,d but i still don't really know what these things mean:
i have a pal wii with 3.1E and hbc and d2pro

- do i even need starfall?
i've got geckoOS as a channel on my Wii and i remove the update in a game with wii utilities 1.1

- can i remove the gecko os channel if i don't play games from another region?

- what exactly is brickblocking? is it just playing a game from another region with gecko os?

- how do i update my hbc? i've got no internet connection on my wii
should i just remove it using the channel management and then download the update, burn it on a dvd and play that in my wii?

1) you dont NEED starfall, its really nice but you dont NEED it. but you need to have 3.2 to have starfall.
2) if you WANT to, again there is no NEED to.
3) brickblocking either refers to the patching of the game OR using Starfall to semi-brickblock your wii. i think.
4) download the update, place the .dol file where you put all your homebrew and then just start it.

wait, the .dol file? never used that?

can't i just download the iso again and install that? like i installed the first hbc
and on the official site it says i need 3.2 to get that iso to work! but when i first did that it didn't need that!
i've downloaded the .dol file from the official site, read the readme and it's quite clear to me now
you should make a directory inside /apps (for example, /apps/Update) and copy
boot.dol there. Then, simply run it from the previous version of the channel.

so if i keep getting those updates out of my pal iso's, i don't need starfall? and if i never download or play other region games, i don't need gecko os or starfall

and by ' to the patching of the game', what do you mean by that?

Brickblocking means completely removing the update from the ISO.

brickblocker removes the update from the iso and replaces it with dummy data i believe.

if you dont use gecko or starfall you will have to brickblock imports to avoid updates.
if you can confirm your iso's are from your region and not patched then you wont need gecko os

i believe you require to have 3.2 or below for the HBC iso as it trucha signed

you can update HBC using the dol on their site
