Gaming Steam Community Nights

GBAtemp already has wifi nights for DS owners, and xbox live for 360 owners. How about a Steam night for PC gamers?

The two most popular game choices are TF2 (Team Fortress 2) and Left 4 Dead. A server is currently being set up for TF2 so that you can play exclusively with people from the GBAtemp community!

Tentatively, we would set aside Friday nights (either weekly or bi-weekly) for this. If there is a better day/time for you, or there are other Steam games you would like to play with/against your fellow GBAtemp'rs, let us know in your comment!

I am very interested, except my laptop sucks atm (I'm actually getting a seperate graphics card)

You should visit IRC more often, most of the discussion about it has been going on there

And the only thing I really have to fix on it atm is to get mapvote and externally downloaded custom maps to work. I may fix other things later on.

You would have to PM Opium about the comments being disabled as he is the main admin for the group, I can post an "Announcement" on your behalf though if you PM me what you want said in it.

Funny only the other day I was looking into the cost of setting up a dedicated TF2 server for the GBAtemp Steam Group

I tried using the "Connect 94.75.248.156:27015" command in the TF2 console and it would not work. Am I doing it wrong?

Edit: No I was right just took a couple of tries intill I connected.

I'd be up for TF2 and L4D, but I do kinda suck at TF2 and got bored with it a good while ago, so I'd prefer if we did L4D. May I also be the first to point out that most of the people here willing to play are European, so perhaps it would be best to set it as Friday night European sort of time?
Otherwise, I'm on for Friday nights, sounds great.
