Great work guys!

Now please release the source so someone *cough* da_letter_a *cough* can port it over to PAL. (That is if you haven't got a PAL version on the way already.)
I'll get the source up tomorrow.

Nice work. Seems to work fine so far (about to test region free channels). I just realized though...has anyone figured out region free from SD for menu 4.2 yet?

I get error 1017 when trying to run. Do I need a trucha-signed IOS60?
You need an IOS36 that has the ES_IDENTIFY patch...trucha maybe as well. That reminds me...a feature request if possible. could you change it to use either 249, or 222? Better yet, a choice between the two. That way we don't have to patch IOS36 for it to work.

I believe you need to patch IOS36 with trucha. es_identify, and patch nand permissions. IOS36 was originally used for this because it is supposedly the safest IOS to patch all three into (as far as I gather). Just boot up DOP-IOS MOD v6 (must be this version!) and download/apply the three patches to IOS36.

Reason I say it must be that version is because the standard DOP-IOS has not been updated with the latest IOS36. If you use that you'll download an old version!

EDIT: Got it fixed. I installed IOS36 v1042 with DOP IOS

Again, that is an extremely old IOS36. Do it again with DOP-IOS Mod v6 and you'll have the latest version patched.

Oh, ok. I think that I was just being lazy with my previous solution. I installed the latest version of IOS36 and applied the three patches with DOP-IOS Mod v6 and all is good. Also, I'd like to point out that you need to have all gamecube peripherals removed before running StartPatch 4.2. I'm not sure why, but otherwise you'll get a black screen.

The XML (description of the app) in the HBC tells you the same thing

Yeah, lol sorry for the redundancy. I jumped the gun without reading the xml description fully. It pays to read thoroughly.

Hey, at least you followed the correct route and are now sitting pretty on a fresh clean v4.2 with pretty hacks

I wanted to pop in again and say that this functioned properly for me on all of the options I set it up to do. Thanks to all of the developer, testers, etc. involved.

Little help: I used zektor's easy 4.2 updater, and tried using dop ios mod to install a patched IOS 36 and I'm getting a 1017 error when trying to install it--any ideas?

Edit: used v8 and that, apparently, worked.
