Hello,

I bought a strange chinese payload injector on AliExpress. The title clearly said SX OS but after some research and asking here I come to the conclusion that I can only inject the Hekate payload.
My question is now is there any way to start SX OS throught Hekate, so the dongle isn't totally useless?

The Injector I bought:

You do realize that you can boot the free CFW such a ReiNX and RajNX via that dongle too right? You don't HAVE to forcefully use SX OS

Just put the payload.bin on the root of your SD card, and hit "boot payload" from hekate
Wow, did not know that this is so easy. I try it later, thanks!

Yes, but I want to use SX OS, I bought it and it would be a waste of money. Also I cant launch the XCIs und Rei, right?

hekate 4.0+ has payload launching, try that.
Well, the Dongle came with Hekate I think 3.5. And there is no way to update.

Why would you want to use .XCIs? No, really, I'm curious.

Sorry, but I am a total newbie. Last homebrew was on my 3DS.
I thought I can only play "backups" (not mine) only on SX OS, all I found before I bought SX OS said I need Title Keys, which I don't own.

Every CFW lets you run backups. Yes it's true only SX OS lets you run .XCI(basically game cart backups) but there is also .NSP backups which are basically e-shop backups. As for the tittle keys, that was the OLD method of running backups that is no longer in use. Imagine the .XCI files as the .3DS files and .NSP as .CIA(you should know these two since you did homebrew on the 3ds)

Oh wow, so SX OS was a waste of money, I guess. Do I understand it right?
I can just download for example the .NSP_File for Mario Kart, launch ReiNX with Hekate and than install it on my switch ... And I never need to mount the game like an XCI?

Yes, but to run the installed game you still need to have booted into CFW.

Yep, exactly. Though you still need to boot into CFW to run the actual game(which is why i never turn my Switch off fully, i just leave it on sleep mode). Though i believe SX OS also has a .NSP installer but i'm not sure of how it works, i think it just installs any .NSP on your SD card automatically

Sure, but thats no problem. Wow thanks for the eye opening informations!
And my old Hekate Version (I think it was 3.5) is no problem, becuase I can launch the newest Rei Payload from there, right?

You might want to update to the latest Hekate which is 4.1

Get hekate CTCaer 4.2 (or whatever is latest right now). Nothing outdated is recommended.

4.2*

Okay. I cant launch anything. The Dongle has Hekate v 3.2 on it. My Switch is running 6.0 ... Everytime I try to launch the firmware I get the following:
Initializing...
Could not identify package1 version (= '20180802162753').
Failed to launch firmware.

Are you sure you have the needed files on your SD card?
