I'm using 3.1E on a PAL system, I had done the 15% trick for the NTSC-J version of SSBX.

I have just used Trucha Signer to replace the disc's __update.inf with the one provided in the post and that's all the modification I did... I'll let the update run fully and let you know how it goes.

By the way, you can extract the rest of the key files just fine from this US SSBX dump, like the tutorial says.

If someone needs a mirror of the replacement INF file, I've uploaded it on Rapidshare and Megaupload for everyone...

Alright guys, I updated the _update.inf with the WiiUpdatePatcher02, then regionfriid to PAL, using a Wiikey 1.9g it works in 50hZ mode but not in 60's
Thanks for all the help

Hello

I am Italian.

I have a question, I made a backup of SSBB (Ver. USA), now I would like to start it on WiiKey reading the forum I did not understand you, someone could tell me what should I do? I do not want the Wii Brick or multiply channel.

Thanks

Hi, I've a European (PAL) Wii with 3.2E firmware, m/b D2C and a D2Ckey.
Can anyone can exist confirm a method for playing on this hardware the US version of SSBB avoiding duplicate channels?
The update it's absolutely needed for playing SSBB (for people with PAL system 3.2E before update: what is your firmware version now?) or I can brickblock the ISO (with latest version of WBB of course) before burning it?
It exist some method of testing the iso, ie. removing a lot of files, for burning it on a DVD+RW (4,7) only for verify if a method works before using a DL media for burning the entire game?
Sorry for the annoying questions but I read some problems regarding duplicate channels, I want to avoid it. Thanks.

Hi everyone,

am totally new to this site so hope I don't do any cock-ups.
Anyway, was to say that I burned a backup of SSBB (US) using Prophet's .inf file and also using Bailli's Wii Generic Patcher, to patch the "Error 001", and everything works great on a PAL Wii, firmware 3.1E
Burned on Verbatim with ImgBurn at Max speed, with layer break set at 2084960. No extra channels thanks to Prohpet.
Got a bit scared at first, because I had no video for some reason as soon as the game launched. Had sound though. Set the Wii to 50Hz, which enabled video. Turned the flicker off in game, came back to the Wii settings and changed it back to 60 Hz and it now works fine. Still get no video signal but only between the Wiimote screen through to the loading screen. As soon as the intro kicks off, the video signal comes back.
Thought i'd let people know, maybe it can answer some questions.

Have you played the Japanese version before trying the US one? I mean, did you do the 15% trick before trying the US version.

I have my system just like yours atm, still 3.1E etc, and from what i could read from all the threads, i was going to do what you did, the only doubt i have is if the 15% trick is needed.

Thanks for giving us some feedback

To bosscolor: the videos work fine in 60Hz. The video signal is only lost from the Wiimote screen up till the loading page, which is right before the intro scene. As soon as the intro kicks in, the video signal comes back.
To Krumm: no, i've never played the Jap version, neither have I ever dun the 15% trick. You need to use Prophet's .inf file though and resign your .iso with TruchaSigner.

I have the same question! I don't want to download the JAP version just so I can do the 15% trick... surely there must be a way to put the SSBB JAP update files onto the SSBB US disc?

i cant open ssbb ntsc with trucha whats the problem, cuz i 've moddified no more heroes but it cant open ssbb can some1 help me

Apakarta, have you selected the proper KeySet with TruchaSigner ? You need to select Custom Keyset1.

Bubbleboy, as I said just before, i've never used the JAP version of SSBB. The US one works fine with all the proper updates, so no need to do the 15% trick. The JAP update file that you're talking about is Prophet's .inf file he's posted at the start of this thread. Download that and update your .iso with TruchaSigner. It's really straightforward. Just follow what Prophet says and it's done.

OK, thanks! I'm assuming you have a JAP console as well. I'll try this as soon as I can!!

He doesn't have a JAP console but a PAL console...

The "Masterpieces" section doesn't work with my version of SSB:B, which I burned using this method.
Could this have come due to the update not fully completing? Maybe some of the emulator files are in the update aswell.
Can anyone confirm that they have "Masterpieces" working with this method?

yes i have...i have moddified no more heroes with trucha

Garnaal, tried out the masterpieces and no, they don't work

. From what I see though, they're only 2 min demos, so no loss really ... unless their are unlockables !!
Tested out everything else which seems to be working fine.

Apakarta, sorry mate but not quite sure i can be of any assisstance. I've never encountered any problems with TruchaSigne as i've been able to open every .iso i've got. Have you been able to open any other .iso's. Could it maybe be coming from your key that you entered in the .reg file ?

Thats good news for me
biggrin.gif
thanks.

Well the thing is, i have been reading everything basically and i had the impression that after applying the new prophet.inf, it wold just skip the update entirely only leaving enough info for the console to think it is updated, but since you have it working it means one of 2 things, it either installs only the required files to run DL games, or there really isn't anything enabling DL support in the patch itself and that was just a rumor.

So anyway, it works and thats whats important.

Thanks for helping, i will probably be finishing the download tomorrow and then i can test it myself. Will post the results here.
