Square root alt code ?

Some say that Alt + 8730 will work on US English keyboards....

It does not work for me here in this text editor, nor notepad. I get this: →

But in Word I get the sqare root.

Alt and decimal value gives me the arrow too.

I don't know if it will work, but I found that you could input unicode hex code after modifying your registry
set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Input Method\EnableHexNumpad to 1
reboot
then you can press Alt and "+" on the numpad, then type the unicode hex value 221a and release Alt.

Odd, I still keep getting the arrow...

Maybe Cyans atempt will help.
However its Quote Sand that this won't work out of the box.
