I'll have to say DQ

it doesn't have that great graphic but in gameplay term none of the FF's can even touch it tho it doesn't mean that FF have a bad gameplay but it just can't match DQ's gameplay IMO

& believe me when DQIX is going to come out on the DS just get ready to be shocked with some ultra crazy mind blowing sales numbers & i'm 90% sure that it's going to be a record that no game will be able to beat it unless DQX will come out on NDS2 or another successful handheld

anyhow

DQ & FF are one of the best RPG series out there (tho i really hated almost every FF after FFIX) but i don't think putting KH against them is a fair thing cause first it's an action RPG, 2nd it's kinda new and childish so no way it can be put against 2 of the biggest & oldest RPG series it's like you'r downgrading DQ & FF to KH level

& from my humble experience in RPG's since 1992 IMO:

For me:
I've beaten Kingdom Hearts 2, and played 1 and CoM

I've played Final Fantasy VII, X, X-2, IV DS, and have beat any yet

Haven't played Dragon Quest

Final Fantasy will obviously win due to it's fanboys, and Dragon Quest will obviously lose due to it's lack of fanboys. Final Fantasy gets a shitload of hype, and hardly anybody plays Dragon Quest due to it's difficulty and extended periods of grind.

Depends what region your in I think. I believe Dragon Quest is the most popular in Japan? USA Final Fantasy because you hear less of Dragon Quest games here then Final Fantasy.

Well, that may have some truth but at first it had more to do with Akira Toriyama's involvement and at the time of the first Dragon Quest's release there weren't many console RPGs that had a lot of depth as the one on the PCs.

I didn't realise there were many PC RPGs back in 1986.

However, you've obviously failed to see the joke in my post.

And whilst on the subject on Dragon Quest, does anybody know if there's a remake planned for the first three games?

I find that Kingdom Hearts is a touch boring and that Final Fantasy has gone downhill after 9. Dragon Quest however seems to get better with each year, and its spin offs are better too. Now if only SE would hurry up with DQ9!

Final Fantasy all the way. Kingdom hearts series is alright, but I'm more into turn-based rpg's. I tried getting into Dragon Quest 8 since it got rave reviews, but it was just kind of boring to me....
