you use your stylus to drag parts onto it giving it speed, atack, better on sand terrain etc
you can color the seperate kind of parts and put patterns
then you use your stylus/dpad to make it walk around on a tiny island but there is nothing to atack

Is it like the spore creature creator for PC, then, or is it watered down?

I would imagine it's watered down, since it's a demo. But I'm guessing the actual game will probably feel watered down as well... Honestly, I just don't think they can fit so many parts into one DS game...

The demo only has 6 pieces for each body parts. After you edit the creature, you can move around in a Paper Mario-like environment. It seems like it could be good, but like War said, theres only so much they could put in a DS game.

god! since it's 2d, they can fit a lot of things.. it's going to be a 128 MB rom, but i am pretty sure it's not going to be compatible with many flash carts until they make an update. Wouldn't be surprised if they add a "Thanks for playing" Screen like in FFCC: Ring of Fates.. lol

It's not 2D. It's a fully three-dimensional game. The elements, though, are flat like Paper Mario, but it's not played in the same way at all.

Anyway, I got enough from the demo to know that I'm going to have a lot of fun with this game. Only thing that's kind of "meh" is that the colors are somewhat bland.

The real creature creator for PC is not even 256 MB's, I downloaded it onto my computer and the whole install package was 214MB's. All they would be doing is dumbing down the graphics and changing the control mechanics.

And there won't be a rom of the demo, so people can shut up and stop asking. The demo is one of those things you download off the Wii and can only play until your DS is shut off, you might be able to go into an EB Games store and download it as well but I am not 100% sure on that. The full version comes out in a couple of weeks anyway.

btw: spore is out over here in germany already, I saw it in a shop today, but didn't buy it.

Kinda surprised it hasn't been dumped yet, since you said it's already out over there. Can't wait.

It is more of a companion piece to Spore, hence the "Creatures" bit added to the title. I'm glad they went this way too.

Famitsu gave the game 28/40, which is sort of saying that its average average but then I hardly ever agree with their scores anyway.

Not seen any other reviews or ratings, won't try the demo but I'll "try" the game when it appears at a place where I can get it.
