about splatoon im interested in rigging different models over the main characters
something like squid monsters is more to my liking
and maybe Mario with Fluud
perhaps texture editing and shizz
hope u make it easier for one to do that with your tools

Well I haven't posted here in a while, time to change that.
I've recently pushed updates that upgrade this program to use Python 3.4, PyOpenGL 3.1.0, and PyQt5.

Other new things:
  • User-friendly object names (shows the object name when you hover over it)
  • A X Y Z axis rendering
  • A combobox for the team parameter
  • Spinboxes for ints and floats
  • A background color chooser
  • A StartPos player model chooser, male or female inkling
  • Object descriptions, per object (for a better view on what the object is)
  • SARC loading, if the model is in .sarc rather than .szs
  • misc fixes

Pretty cool! So this editor only lets you move objects, right? You can't import objects from blender or another 3d modeling software? Also are there plans for texture viewing?

And about MK8, eh. I doubt it as well.
Honestly, it seems like no one cares about Mario Kart 8. MrBean3500VR even said this: "You'll probably have to wait for someone else to create CTs instead." It really sucks because I could see a lot of potential with Mario Kart 8 with the ability to load higher quality models/textures and it anti-gravity. O well, at least there is Mario Kart 7 CT's and a work in progress Splatoon editor.

My knowledge on PyOpenGL is low, so I don't think textured models will be a thing anytime soon, not that it would make a huge difference, but...

if enough people nag me about MK8 I might add in 0xC3 (path data) support to see if I can kickstart something from that.

Nevermind, I fixed it.
 
@YoshiCrystal why do you want to use Splat3D anyway, it's an extremely outdated tool and you're better off waiting for someone else to release a map editor with more support, since MrRean doesn't do work with Splatoon anymore
