Back ports like the PS4/PS5?
Backports require a physical copy of the game (that's why Kunitsu-Gami was never backported) and some manual labor. Also, a prominent backporter from the PS4 scene, Cyb1K, received legal threats and quit after Yakuza Hawaii.

Geekerwan got a Switch 2 motherboard early and did a full die shot analysis of T239 with help from Kurnal

Cool, now we just need all the other parts to build a switch 2 before launch. Also, I wonder if he has access to the NAND. I know its probably impossible, but it would be cool to look further into the OS.

OP missed an opportunity to call this thread "How's Nintendo gonna fuck it up this time?!".

I can't wait. Nintendo security breaks are the stuff of comedy legend.
Worth noting that the most notable security vulnerability of the Switch 1 was an issue in Nvidia code (RCM mode). Most of Nintendo's own software has been very secure for the past 6 years on Switch 1.

And we know Switch 2 will use the same OS, in part due to leftovers in a recent system update that were meant for Switch 2 only.

I wonder if they stop updating the Switch 1 we can get softmods without using RCM mode on later versions.

This seems to be very unlikely unfortunately :

I've re-implemented their secure monitor as open source software twice. It has no bugs. I've re-implemented their kernel as open source software. It has no exploitable bugs. Software hax isn't happening unless NVidia made bootrom mistake (unlikely imo).

xbox one has successfully gone an entire generation without software compromise vulnerabilities. Nintendo's secure monitor has 300 functions. Its kernel has ~800. These are tiny binaries, small enough that it's possible to get them right. I'm less confident in NVidia's code, but.

Software hax really seems unlikely to me, I would plan as though it will never happen.

This is also why I'm not so hopeful for a software exploit on Switch 2 anytime soon if it uses the same OS. To my knowledge the Switch 1 had just one software exploit that was patched in 4.1.0, then absolutely nothing.

Considering that nintendo has been updating it's hardware overtime with the switch V2, Lite and OLED, I honestly doubt there'll be a security exploit like with the V1 switch 1s, I guess we'll find out when the console launches in just a few weeks from now

Oh really, that's a shame for the people who wanna mod their switch 2, makes me wonder who'll step up and make a switch 2 cfw (if anyone will at all)
I think someone will or if anything a flash cart will eventually be made but for now, let’s wait to see if the current flash cart is blocked from being used for switch games.

Is there any possibility that the Switch 2 hackers can backup the Switch 2 GCN games? They look really good.

Thanks in advance for replying.

Well what im curious about is the key dumper,
Like that cant work on the switch 2 right since the switch 1 is being like "half emulated"?
Not sure how it works, We dump our prod keys using the tool (or our own switch 1) and then put them on the migswitch SD card and that makes the NSPs work?

The GameCube ROMs for NSO are literally the same as always, they don't have any changes.

All the upscaling is done by the emulator

Oh, what about that emulator any chance it can be backed up by hackers and used on CFW NS2 units?

My phone can run GCN games so it's nothing too impressive these days.
