Hacking Official [Source Release] ReiNand CFW

For fun I modified CakesFW to dump the decrypted 10.2 FIRM it uses, but it just gives me a black screen with Reinand (expected, since it expects the 9.6 FIRM). I'll see if I can get it working with some source modifications (and submit a pull request maybe, if it works). No promises though.

Just asking, is 10.2 and 10.3 FIRM the same?

Yes, FIRM didn't change from 10.2 to 10.3.

yea theres quite a few offets that are different

I did the same thing (you removed the FIRM from the cakes DB to have it dump it to sdcard as unsupported, didn't you?
I even copied the offsets from Cakes and thus got reiNand to have an identical FIRM to Cakes in memory before firmlaunch (modified ReiNand to dump it to sdcard), but it's a no-go.
I guess this is out of my capabilities.

Yeah, I left the thread part out (because I dunno how to get those and Cakes doesn't use a thread), but I think I have all of the other offsets matching..about to try it now.

Be careful to edit the emunand .S file as well, there are two offsets there as well.

Hm, I guess it's beyond me too. I changed all of the offsets I could find that matched Cakes' but it still wasn't enough. I don't really know enough to get the offsets myself.

I actually got the FIRM in memory to be binary identical to the one booted by Cakes (same hash), but it still didn't boot. I don't honestly know why.

I cant access eshop on reinand 10.3 emunand.(and cant update games on home menu) I didnt used hans or eshop homebrew app. And I installed nver (9.5 emunand eshop access title, xenoa hacks's tutorial) Any help?

You shouldn't have installed nver.

Why would you install Nver on 10.3? You only needed to do that back when 9.5 was the highest we could go.

Updating from system settings fixes the issue. You don't need to install anything.

I look forward to trying ReiNAND on my New 3DSX XL, I'll get to it as soon as it gets to me in a few hours. It seems to have just about the right set of functions I'd ever need, considering I don't need to run out of region titles right now.

You know, now that you mention it auto-setting CPU mode would actually be very sweet. Even more if it remembered per-game settings. Although going by what I can infer of Rei's development style it might be a tad too out of the main scope to be added haha. What I miss from the PSP days are those XMB plugins, it was all so flexible. The closest we can get are things like NTR plugins I guess, probably because the PSP plusing system was used natively IIRC.

Yeah that would be really sweet but yes I know it would against Rei's philiosphy and I totally understand that. I mean booting NTR isn't hard and having these features in Rei would really only be a convenience but I can live without it And yeah I remember the PSP Plugins, Remote Joy was THE thing back in the day along with custom music and whatever extensions and OSDs you could get. I think in terms of this the PSP was the best handheld! But really, using my PSP 2000 nowdays the screen really is bad
