thanks for the work, but not everyone has their computer set up read to compile/compile 3ds stuff, no matter how easy the OP might say it is.
it would have saved a lot of joint minutes/hours of users combined trying to get it working on their own, when that time and like 2 pages of this thread should have been saved if you would have justed posted a compiled version of it :)
I did try and set up to be able to compile though because its becoming a trend dev wanted people to compile it themselve. I dont really understand the advantage of such release strategy because not a developer myself.

It takes me few hours to find and read stuff being a noob. Once eveything set up. I type 'make'. It gives error. I give up. I guess ill be using whats available for newbie atm.
I understand you completely. You got to understand, though, that ReiNAND is a special case. Compiling ReiNAND requires files copyrighted by Nintendo. Providing a compiled version would violate the board rules and actually be piracy in itself. The one thing that I didn't think of so far is that it would be completely okay to post the Ninjhax launcher (.3DSX/.SMDH) only, as this does not require any copyrighted files to compile. You'd need to hunt down the other ReiNAND files from somewhere else then, and I'd have no way of checking that you are using the correct files. You see there's really no noob friendly way to do this.

I just added the Brahma2Loader files only(!) to post #1. If you manage to hunt down the other ReiNAND files, you can try it even without compiling. Everyone compiling their own Brahma2Loaders for other stuff is free to post them as well.

By the way, @Kawaii I think the error message you got was about a missing firmware.bin file. That's the copyrighted one, and you need to hunt that down for compiling.

You should be able to provide everything but the firmware.bin, but I still think you should not provide a pre compiled version, so people are not like "1t n0 w0rk, y0u dum!!1!!1!!".

It should be fine to include the .dat file in a released form, I don't think it "compiles" with any part of the firmware.bin file that's needed (if it did, then what's the point of needing firmware.bin on the SD card?). Or am I wrong?

To be honest, I'm unsure about that. Maybe the firmware.bin file is only needed because the Makefile script copies it into the release path. Didn't have a look at the Makefile that deep so far.

If i get this correctly, this 3dsx is something i can point the CTR Boot Manager at to cold-boot into ReiNand, right? I've been doing that by just pointing it at reiNand.dat directly, but it's very unreliable.

Can i use this 3dsx via homebrew launcher, too, or is it just for cold-booting?

First question, yes.
Second question, yes it can be run from homebrew launcher too.

You understand that you need to get the ReiNAND (v2.1+) files from elsewhere and the two files I posted are only part of what you need? I can't help you with finding the compiled ReiNAND CFW, but Google can.

i have installed always maybe i mistake wit the path to placed files its my first time with reinand i place the brahma folder in 3ds folder and rei folder on the root.i understand maybe reinand are n3ds only ?i have an old3ds

@d0k3: Have you tried your loader with the newest libkhax yet? I'm curious to know if the boot rates have improved even more.

Yes, I have, see here (especially the latest comments). The BrahmaLoader is also already updated with those changes (it is more than just the latest libkhax). I haven't yet updated the BrahmaLoader in this project yet - still waiting until the new loader is more thoroughly tested. You don't need to wait, though, just use the ReiNAND XML (or edit it for another CFW) from the BrahmaLoader archive (available here).

Heh, that was quick. Thanks, I might give it a try.

@d0k3

In the past i used your brahama loader with rxTools but have now switched to the recent ReiNAND 9.6+ CFW

Is this version of the brahama loader suitable for this new version or only ok for V2.1 ?

Thanks

No problem, just keep on using it. You can even reuse the old XML file if you wish to do so.
