I'm finally getting around to modding my Wii after recently picking up an external HDD. I have a pretty sizable game collection, so it's taking me quite a while to get them all prepped to transfer to the HDD. One thing I'm uncertain about is what options I have for sorting games within the loader. For reference, my initial preference is USB Loader GX, but I haven't used any of them enough to be locked into that.

Specifically, I'm wondering about how to get the games to show up in the order I want. E.g., I want Skyward Sword to show up in the L section alphabetically. If I've understood correctly, using the WiiTDB titles.txt file would have it sorted under T for The Legend of Zelda. I'm assuming the fix for this is to just make an entry in custom-titles.txt that overrides it, where I instead call it something like "Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword".

Here's where I want to get into the nitty gritty details that I really wanted to ask about. First, is there a 1:1 link between the game title displayed in the loader and the sort order, or is there some way to split the two? For example, let's take the Skylanders games, which I'd like to appear in order as follows:

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
Skylanders: Giants
Skylanders: Swap Force
Skylanders: Trap Team
Skylanders: SuperChargers Racing

Alphabetically, they get sorted as:

Skylanders: Giants
Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure
Skylanders: SuperChargers Racing
Skylanders: Swap Force
Skylanders: Trap Team

I'd normally handle this by just inserting a number before the colon, e.g. "Skylanders 1: Spyro's Adventure". Is there any way to make that a non-visible sorting title, so that the game would still be displayed as "Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure", or is the loader screen going to show whatever title I enter exactly? For example, could I do something like changing the folder name to alter the sort order while using custom-titles.txt to set the display name? My assumption is whatever I enter in the text file is used for both the display and the sorting, and the folder name is irrelevant aside from needing to have the Game ID, but is that accurate?

Second, suppose I change my mind on a title after I've already generated my .wbfs file and organized my collection. I go in and change my custom-titles.txt file. It's my understanding that that title doesn't affect the .wbfs file in any way, assuming I don't check any of the boxes in Wii Backup Manager that would alter the header. However, the title is used in the folder name. Do I have to update the folder name to the new title for the loader to be able to recognize it correctly? Or is it sufficient that the Game ID still matches?
