Just started playing Sonic 4 Episode 1 on my ipad and have to say it's pretty damn good so far and I can't wait till it's released on the home consoles.

It's a good game, but personally this is just not suitable on the iphone. The touch joypad is annyoing but as a game overall its good but it destroys my battery life (100% to 76% in about an hour). This is fine though until the home release

I just bought it with a gift card. I really like it. I am also going to buy it on Xbox, and possibly PS3.
If you buy it at least twice you'll get your name stickied to a thread on the SEGA forums

QUOTE
Anyone who picks up two or more versions of the game will be included in a special sticky thread to be posted here on the SEGA and Sonic 4 Forums. This will be a sort of MVP list that will document all of the fans out there who went above and beyond to help support the game. This list will also be posted on the SEGA Blogs and featured on the Sonic 4 website via the blogs feed.
Those fans who have both the consoles and the determination to grab three versions of the game will receive placement on the forum list, a digital bucket of cute fluffy kittens*, a special call-out on the SEGA Blogs and the Sonic 4 website's news feed, and special placement in one very cool spot, to be revealed! (As soon as we finish unloading the kittens.)
Finally, any die-hard collectors or supporters who have already decided that they plan to grab a copy of every version of the game will be featured in all of the above, and will also receive a special thank you shout-out, on video, from both Ken Balough and myself, which will be featured on the SEGA Youtube page and posted all across SEGA's realms here on the internets. (Rumor has it that interested parties may also request that Ken present his thank you in Spanish, and he will actually do so. Es loco!)

I pirated it. But i didn't like the iPhone one so i deleted it.

I will buy the PSN one

Ditto, but the only reason my copy is still on my iphone cause the consoles ones aren't out. Some of the stages require some timed and precise movements which is extremely hard to do. (e.g. In the 3rd act for lost maze is it when the wall is closing in on you...you have like one chance to jump on the 1st ledge to get to the spring and then you have to spin dash twice to get up the curve....This proved difficult on the iphone)

Finally completed this 100% on iPhone 4... That was hard. I almost smashed my iPhone against the wall countless times during special stages and the last boss fight.

While I'm still not sure this title deserves to be named the fourth instalment; I actually had a blast playing it. It really is a lot of fun and addictive. It plays very differently to the classics due to new physics, and while the physics are not perfect, they work well for the level designs in the game. Seeing as the iPhone build is the same as the Partnernet leaks, I'm really looking forward to the new and improved console versions. If I managed to really enjoy it on iPhone, the console versions should be even better.

This is the best 2D Sonic since Sonic Advance 1 (as much as I liked Sonic Advance 2 and 3, I felt they weren't really part of the classic Sonic game line). It's so refreshing to see SEGA release a good Sonic game after so many years of waiting. The level designs in this game are really good, there are a lot of speed boosters and springs to push you to where you're supposed to go but I really didn't mind them. Some of the levels are huge and take quite a while to complete the first few times playing them.

The special stages aren't bad. But they're SO hard to control using the iPhone. I hope the console versions are easier, because the iPhone tilt controls are torture.

Once major gripe I have with this game however, is that it feels like a big step backwards in the classic series rather than a continuation which it is supposed to be. No new power ups, no elemental shields, no stage linking (going from 1 stage to the next like in Sonic 3 & Knuckles), no mini bosses, no cut scene intro (no matter how short) and an overly underwhelming credit/outro sequence.

I'm really looking forward to grabbing the new build on PSN on Wednesday and after that will be counting down the days to episode 2. I hope they put a bit more effort into ep 2 and include some of the missing features that could have made this game even better.

Seen as I lack idevices I had to resort to the 360. Not so impressed although that might have been the dpad and the early version thing.

Levels were awesome but the controls...... they felt unresponsive as it were. I am fine with screwing up a launch/jump but to have it messed up by "slow" controls is not fun.

i didn't like the fact that the controls are unresponsive and laggy, spinning the whole screen around was unnecessary also if you make a jump towards a gap sonic will stop and fall like a stone mid way, i hate that
