Seems Sega have been having a dig through their old filing cabinets and found that little folder marked 'blast processing'. Damn this looks good. Provided they don't do anything stupid to foul it up (IE: gimmicky Werehog sections that are about as far removed from Sonic as you can get) then this might be the next great Sonic game. It's about damn time, Sega. You made solid progress with Sonic Colours and the portable incarnations remain faithful to the Mega Drive roots, this could be what gets you finally back on track.

Don't let me down again or I'll kill your budgie with a teaspoon.

Now that's one of those games that you'd buy a new console to play. Nintendo would have mare sales if there were more games like this.
