No I've got a normal wii but just considering modding it but unlike 360's can you get banned with a modded wii online?

Modchips for the wii console are undetectable.(So far).
I would recommend getting a Wiikey2 as the D2Ckey is obsolete and no longer supported.

Get a D2Pro on a WiiClip from modchipcentral.com

You still need to know your D2 model before you buy though.
