Hacking softmodin wii

I got a wii with 3.2E update and I want to soft mod it but to soft mod I need Zelda game original right ?
this is the only way to hax wii with soft moding ?
so I will buy a mod chip then, can I update my wii and later buy that mod chip and install it with out problems ?
Since I want to check out wii shop

You won't need a modchip if softmodded.
You can enjoy the Shop Channel on 3.2E aswell, there are fixes on wiibrew.org

I live in a country were such shop doesn't exist, well I'm still getting a mod chip
but can I update my wii for the time being ? will I lose something by doing that, can't get cool stuff to install or can't install a mod chip ?
