Title says it all, has anyone tested it yet?
I would really like to have themes on 4.0,
i'm not going to test it before i have a original pal app file of 4.0 so i can recover... or when i have the 4.0e wad file so i can inject myself and test...
Won't work 4.0 uses a 72.app instead of 42.app.
So can't you extract 72.app form the nand?
tweak installer supports 4.0
softmii team is working on 4.0 themes already
You can but previous themes won't work at the moment, maybe a modified version of parsemii would make converting old themes to 72.apps possible, but at the moment theres no way without doing some actual work.
However, MyMenu-based themes ALL still work on 4.0, you just need the new base to use. MyM is so flexible it will work with system menus 2.0-4.0 without any extra work. If I get my hands on Bushing's 1.0 NAND dump it might even support that too!
I'm aslo working on a tool to convert SoftMii themes to MyMenu themes.
And I thought softmii was bad with their shameless self promotion, well I guess your the lesser of two evils you actually make things yourself rather than compiling others work and trying to promote it as your own.
How is Icefire even remotely one of those evils? He actually makes the tools that he promotes the use of. and frankly he's quite good at it.
The differnce between the older system files and the 4.0 menu files, really isn't that great. I would imagine, in theory as I haven't upgraded to 4.0, you could actually just move any files that didn't have their based file changed in 4.0 (tpl, brlan, brytl, etc) files from say one of SoftMii's Themes and pack them into the 4.0 ash files. A vast majority of the files have stayed the same. They added like 5 new ashes and changed one I think.
It's not even too complicated to see what changed if you use Altova Diffdog to see what files and directories changed and then use the file compare in HexWorkshop to see what changed in the code.
I posted up the new graphic changes, well all but tmptitle_icon.ash.arc cause I'm lazy, in this thread;
