Hi guys I got a soft bricked 3ds (i got it like this)
The current problem is it wont boot up to the home menu. I've installed B9S and Luna and and I've tried CTRTransfer which does nothing. I can get to the recovery menu and update but nothing happened(UP+A+L+R menu).
I get this error.

Is there anyway to install the firmware from scratch from Godmode9?

UPDATE!
I tried everything listed by everyone and nothing worked. These instructions should help someone in the future!
Thanks everyone.

I opened up my 3DS and found out it was water damaged. Something on the main board is fried. Time for a new one

If you hold down SELECT on boot, do you get a Luma menu? Does it boot GM9 or something? Or just this error instantly?

Tried removing your SDCard if you got boot.firm on the CTRNand

I can boot to both the Luma menu and godmode9.
I get the error instantly trying to boot to home.
Removing the SD card has the same results.

Try removing and reinserting the battery and booting the 3DS without an SD card. If that doesn't work, did you make a backup of your sysNAND before the soft brick happen?

I've tried that. Same error
No I wasn't able to. I obtained the 3ds like this with an error message on start up and proceeded to instal Luma and B9S hoping I would be able to somehow restore it with godmode9

This is your last software option if Recovery Mode, CTRtransfer, and sysNAND are out of the question:
https://github.com/AnalogMan151/Lazarus3DS

If you cannot get Lazarus3DS to work for you, you're left with hardmod or selling the 3DS.

I wonder... might it need a older Luma? That it isn't the latest B9S version

Try CTRTransfer via Godmode9. If that won't work do it with Decrypt9. If that won't work try Lazarus3D.

If the problem is caused by the boot.firm (unsuported luma) it would just blink blue light.

Ah true! I shouldn't do techsupport 4AM in the morning xD

Thanks everyone for the software solutions. However none of them worked.

Is there a possible hardware problem that could make this happen? (something unpugged? SS 3D cable unplugged?)

If there is nothing to check I'll just do a hardmod then.

The most common cable failures are the speakers, front camera, and top LCD. These are most prone to fail because of the stress from the hinge.
- A bad speaker cable would give a popping noise and instant shut off the 3DS.
- A bad front camera cable would boot up and and shut off -or- boots up blank. (likely candidate if its hardware related)
- You don't have a bad top LCD connection as can be seen in your picture and being able to navigate into GodMode9.

Before you start taking apart the N3DSXL, I want you try one last thing. This is a crap shot at this point but exhaust every simple possibility. What do you have to lose at this point?

Under GodMode9, make a backup of your sysNAND and do a (Full) restore. See if does anything.
