So long, Toonami

I remember when Toonami didn't suck in the 90s and early 00's but I can't say I'm sorry to see it die now. CN on the whole outside of like 1/3 or less of Adult Swim is just awful now with a lot of their own half baked stupid crap airing. CN used to be great in the 90s with all the good old stuff that now seems to dominate Boomerang which I'm happy to have. As is they could just kill CN and load it with the Boomerang stuff for all I care now for the most part.

AS has Venture Bros, Family Guy, American Dad, ATHF, Robot Chicken and little else going for it...and the whole channel more or less sucks now.

MOLTAR! NOOOOOO!

Well it's sad to see that it turned to crap these past few years...used to watch them once I could actually follow what was on TV...Ah, Robotech and and decently dubbed DBZ, the memories.

F*ck CN.

"On September 20, 2008, Cartoon Network canceled the block and has aired its final transmission. Employees who worked on the block will be going to other parts of the channel. Anime will be mostly handled by Adult Swim, and there will be a action block replacing Toonami on Friday nights afterwards. Toonami Jetstream will remain without the Toonami name.[2][3][4] At the end of Toonami's final airing, the host, voiced by Steven Blum, ended the block by saying "bang", echoing the final word of his character Spike Spiegel at the end of Cowboy Bebop."

Bummer, now fucked up, editted versions of anime won't be available on Toonami.

Wait, that's a good thing.

For christ's sake watch your anime properly. Either download the subs correctly, or download the dvds if you desperately need a dub.

Of course you can also buy your anime, but that likely would seem as weird as buying your video games.

But stop watching fucked up anime on North American tv.

agreed 100%. stupid ytv in canada lol. nothing like dubbed reruns of shonen jump eh? u nubs

All I have to say is you could watch it coming.... I've been a faithful follower since day one. The longest running block of good animation on CN and is now finally gone. Pissed and sad... that is all I can feel.

Guess I can cancel my Saturday tape time.

This is truly the death of an era.

we had toonami and Cartoonnetwork on sky
but one day Cartoonnetwork decided to join toonami so they made a new channel called "cartoonito"

Favorite show on Toonami?
Pretty much any decent Anime that appeared on there.

DBZ, DB those were two of the best shows ever to grace the US airwaves. Hamtaro was cute and funny and Prince of Tennis and I cant beleive that they did this. I hadn't heard this but I did wonder why I couldn't seem to find it on the TV guide. It never occured to me that they'd do this.

Ehh...

Cartoons are shit now. It's not what it used to be. Back then, every cartoon is watchable and enjoyable. These days, they lack originality and they just don't feel right.

I'd rather stick to a cartoon that's pencil sketched and has good content than new graphics but unoriginal lines.

I miss the old days of "cartoon violence". Like Tom & Jerry or the Looney Toons.
