iirc the latest guide uses Pokemon Picross and a Mii, so it might be worth making sure you have both. Pokemon Picross is free on eShop.

There are a few non-eShop related methods, like Seedminer, hardmodding, ntrboot, and kartdlphax, to name a few that work on the latest OFW without the need for eShop. Looking through The Guide, it seems the best methods have moved away from eShop methods of exploiting the system.

thats not how it works when a exploit gets patched. That means of entry got fixed. which means it cannot be used.
