Basically all I want to do is play psp and ps1 iso's and maybe a nes, snes, and a genesis emulator on a psp. Is the 3000 or 2000 capable of either of these? Can ANY psp and ps1 iso run on a 3000 or 2000?

FW downgraders only work on PSPs that are fully hackable (which the 3000s and late 2000s aren't)

A hackable 2000 will definitely be able to run PS1 games (after eboot conversion), PSP ISOs and homebrew emulators.
A Partially Hackable 2000 or any 3000 will only be able to do this if it is FW5.03 or below as 5.03 is the latest firmware with any working temporary custom firmware. This is due to hardware differences which make the PSP 3000/late 2000s immune to the Pandora Service battery and flashing CFW (flashing CFW is possible but it bricks the PSP permanently)

Read the title, and accidently facepalmed myself too hard, now it hurts(xD). With the questions you just asked, I think it's better off you get a psp 1000. psp 3000 is only partly hackable, and only some psp 2000s are hackable. I got a 2000, but it took me a while to get the right one. Also, if you get a 1000, it feels sturdier, and doesnt feel cheap, like my 2000 does.

. If the console is hackable, it can run both psp and ps1 games, just depends on the ps1 emulator. next time, do a search saying," which psps are hackable", instead of going here right away.

I heard the 1000 can only read up to 4gb on a memory stick, is this true? Is there a way to hack it so it can read up to 16gb?

No, that is not true. I have an 8GB stick and it reads it fine.

so the only difference between a 1000 and a 3000 is that the 3000 is partially hackable meaning that if i force shut down or take out the battery it will revert back to ofw? So as long as i don't do those am i good? Also according to this guide the 3000 motherboard has a 50% chance of being partially hackable or not hackable?

I really just don't suggest the 3000. Out of my experience it seems the 2000 is the best choice, more ram and a better screen over the 1000 plus a 90% hack-ability chance. But yes, the 3000 has a 50%+ chance of not being hack-able and if you do a full shut-down it will go back to OFW but you can restart your CFW.

If the Phat was on anything below firmware 2.80 then yeah but after 2.81 it supports higher capacities
