I read the other day that Mega Man X2 is being released on July 20th in Japan, and had a question in regards to virtual console injection. Would it be possible to inject more games (like Mega Man X3) since it uses the CX4 enhancement chip?

Here's the link

According to this page, only Mega Man X2 and X3 use the CX4 enhancement chip, so I doubt we can inject anything else.

Microsoft is a massive publisher now so drivers will obviously be best for Windows Linux is more best for older systems with potential
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@False_Hope, Linux operates on its own frameworks that use far less resources and it's less harsh on performance.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    So technically yes.
  • K3Nv3 @ K3Nv3:
Yeah but most games are intended to run around exe

I wonder if it could run like... Splinter Ceell Chaos Theory?
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@AncientBoi, It's unsupported currently according to ProtoDB: https://www.protondb.com/app/13570

If you got an older system Linux might be preferred but newer hardware I'd stick with windows

I got the linux screen YaY
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
So you'll have to sideload alongside Windows. You can have one partition for Windows and another for Linux.

Lutris can be a pain in the dick to use and figure out settings
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
As for virtual machines, they're not generally the best for playing games due to limitations. Closest would be SoftGPU which are third-party drivers for graphics.

@K3Nv3, Oh yea, totally. Lutris is very tricky to get working.

I'm not hating on Linux just being honest about it 🤷

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@AncientBoi, If it's already installed, it does tell you to remove the installation media afterwards such as the USB stick or DVD that you installed LM with.
