i have some experiance with rpi3, ps classic, and various emulators, android roots, jailbrakes etc.
I have aquired a snes classic and it has already been modded at first glance there are extra folders with (at a guess about 20ish games each) i was told it has about 200 games in total i havent counted as of yet.
i'v only played on it for about 10 min all is fine apart from the folder names are a little untidy in my opinion, the menus appear as stock apart from the extra game folders and all games run and have artwork.
problems so far are
c4 error pops up when trying to create a save state.
now i think this is due to lack of space or maybe too many saves slots (a quick search has lead me to believe maybe only 20 save states are possible, i'm going to check this when i post this
my other theory is too many games on there or maybe its been badly modded.
also i am going to try a game with save back up next such as zelda / dk country / mario world and check if those types of games are saving as i am yet unsure.
what would be helpful is if there is anyone here who could tell be what is the best way for me to get access to the files on the system or even check what method has been used to add the extra games.
for example is there a haxchi too or something elsel i could get and connect the snes to my pc to look around it before going any further, (assuming thats how it was done as i am not aware of how many methods there are when modding this device.
this might come accross as a little impatiant but my next step is now going to be researching how to add to a snes classic from scratch.
i have thought of reflashing the kernal to original but not yet sure if it is safe to do without before removing the current mod. that would be as a last resort so would rather just get access to the folders to tidy it up a little and resore the save state feature (if that feature is broken)
