Nintendo can't target a9lh at all, because luma is protecting the firm. they could try to target luma itself though, and do some crypto to prevent luma form patching what it wants to. Or thy could actually put in something that checks firm.

they already tried ot target it with 11.3, but firm protection stops them from getting it.

Regardless if 11.4 somehow soft bricks, you can flash back anyway.

Remember the "not all maitenance means updates"?
it's just a warning, sure it may not be, but at least now the guy who comes along 5 minutes after the update drops crying "urrrgh fix mah hax nobody fkn told ME!!!!!!!" can be told to pipe down and read next time

i thought that maint is the second stage of the DSIware shop going bye bye. (

Nintendo plans to end all services related to the DSi shop in two phases: one in September 2016, and a second one in March 2017.

* September 30th 2016, 11.59PM (JST): after that date, you will no longer be able to add Nintendo DSi points to your account;
* March 31st, 2017, 11.59PM (JST): after that date, you will no longer be able to access the Nintendo DSi Shop period, even to redownload content you previously bought. )

there hasnt been a intentional maint since the 31st so maybe it was delayed and going thru now since that update notice in that JP Site is mentioning DSI shop?

Just curious, how is he so sure a firmware update will be out tonight? Is he from the future?
I'm frankly not too sure how Smea can sense an update coming out. But he did say it has been a while since the release of the 11.3 update, but there hasn't been any huge announcement AFAIK to completely hack 11.3, hence I don't really know why Smea senses an update to come. Anyways, I haven't really been watching the scene since I am busy with school.
But, Nintendo will make our stock firmware systems more "stable" like they always do.

But you never know, with all the patches that hit part of the scene hard in 11.3, they could probably kill a9lh like they did with RXTools.

That is more or less what they did with RXtools and the only reason it worked is because RXtools relies on an external firmware.bin and hasn't been updated in a long time. At worst you will be unable to boot until a Luma update comes out which won't take very long, a day at most.

="Memoir, post: 7218778, member: 86170"]All I'm reading is that the new update (if there is one) will break hax payloads. So, why are people talking about A9LH?

Not to mention hax payloads have already been unbroken on Luma by bringing back gspwn thus you can already use 11.2 hax payloads on 11.3 if you have Luma.

It's too bad I can't stab information into people.
You and me, both.

yet you spend time updating it? are you a closet 3ds user?
Who cares what he does with his system.
If he wants to throw it at a wall, he can.
If he wants to pour gasoline on it and throw a lit match on it, he can.
If he wants to update it, he can.

NOBODY cares what he does with his system. I'm just pointing out his contradictory statement.
he doesn't care about his 3ds but he's in a 3ds forum talking about how he updated his 3ds.
sounds like he has a love/hate relationship with his 3ds. lol

It also sound like you're having a love/hate relationship about what @DinohScene does with his 3ds.
If nobody cares about his 3ds, why would you be the only one to bring it up?
