It works. Had mine for about four months.

Unless, you know, you get a DOA. Then it wouldn't work, obv.

I've had it for somewhere between 6 months and a year, and probably closer to a year

you can quibble about the exact date if you want, but it doesn't change anything

Well consider that you're only gonna be using it a few times, so might as well get the phat battery. its a dollar cheaper and hey you will be able to mod a phat psp for whatever reason.
