Hacking Skin problem

Hi,

I'm working now on a German skin translation of the Skin "Aero Ultimate".
I want to make the "FL_BG_Top.bmp"-file transparent, like in the English version of the skin.
I tried it with a PNG-file and changed the "MakeSkin.lst", so the skin-generator makes no problems.
To make the skin was no problem, but if I change in the DS to the "PNG-skin", the Ds stops an shows an error.
If I change the PNG-file with a BMP-file, everything works again.

Can someone help me please?

Hi,

I got the solution from metron.

The DS can not handle transparency for a background image. only BMP will work since their is no transperancy. in order to make it appear to be transparent. open the background image in your image editing program (I use gimp) and then create a new layer. put whatever you want on that layer and then go to the eraser and set it to about 25-35 percent opacity and start to erase the layer. then flatten the image and it should be rdy to save.

I have another question. I want to change the time from "1am-12pm" to "1Uhr-24Uhr". Is that possible?

Have a look at my translation. It displays the time in 24-hour-format where possible.

The clocks with the big colored font currently cannot be changed, however.
